His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and HE President of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides held today a session of official talks at the Presidential Palace in Nicosia. At the beginning of the session, HE the President of the Republic of Cyprus welcomed HH The Amir and the accompanying delegation, stressing the significance of HH The Amir's first visit to Cyprus and its role in bolstering the bilateral relations, looking forward to working with His Highness to develop mutual cooperation and push relations to higher levels. For his part, HH The Amir expressed his thanks to HE the President of Cyprus for his invitation to visit the Republic of Cyprus and for the warm reception and hospitality with which His Highness and the accompanying delegation were accorded, hoping that this visit will contribute to strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various fields, in a way that benefits the two countries and their friendly people. During the session, they discussed aspects of cooperation and ways to develop them in all fields, especially in energy, industry and investment. The session also discussed overall events and developments on the regional and international arenas of common concern, especially the situation in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories. The session was attended by HE Chief of the Amiri Diwan Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, HE Minister of Transport Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti, HE Minister of State for Energy Affairs Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, HE Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, HE Minister of Culture Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Thani, HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, and a number of Their Excellencies members of the official delegation accompanying HH The Amir. On the Cypriot side, it was attended by HE Minister of Finance Makis Keravnos, HE Minister of Transport, Communications and Works Alexis Vafeades, HE Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry George Papanastasiou, HE Deputy Minister for European Affairs Marilena Raouna, HE Deputy Minister to the President Irene Piki, and HE Deputy Minister of Culture Dr Vasiliki Kassianidou, and a number of senior officials. HH The Amir and HE the President of Cyprus held earlier a bilateral meeting and discussed the overall cooperation between the two friendly countries, in addition to discussing a number of issues of mutual interest. HE the President of Cyprus hosted a luncheon banquet in honor of HH The Amir and the accompanying delegation. HH The Amir was accorded an official reception ceremony upon arrival at the Presidential Palace in Nicosia.

His Excellency Mr. Ali Yousef Abdul Rahman Al-Mulla, Ambassador of the State of Qatar, and Their Excellencies the Arab Ambassadors accredited to Cyprus attended the meeting that took place with His Excellency Mr. Riyad Al-Maliki, the Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the delegation accompanying him at the Palestinian Embassy in Nicosia

The Embassy of the State of Qatar in Cyprus celebrated Sports Day in Doha Park in the Cypriot capital, Nicosia. Sports activities of all kinds were practiced. The events were attended by His Excellency Mr. Ali Yousef Abdul Rahman Al-Mulla, Ambassador of the State of Qatar, diplomats and employees.

Political consultations were held between the Qatari and Cypriot Foreign Ministries. The Qatari side was headed by His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Hassan Al-Hammadi, Secretary-General, and the Cypriot side was headed by Dr. Kyriakos Koros , Secretary-General. During the meeting, relations between the two countries were reviewed. The meeting was attended by His Excellency Ali Yousef Al-Mulla, Ambassador of the State of Qatar, and the delegation.

His Excellency Mr. Ali Yousef Abdul Rahman Al-Mulla, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Cyprus, participated in the solidarity meeting held at the Embassy of the State of Palestine, in the presence of Their Excellencies the Arab ambassadors accredited to Cyprus, and the latest developments on the Palestinian arena and what is happening in Gaza were discussed.

His Excellency Mr. Ali Yousef Abdul Rahman Al-Mulla, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Cyprus, participated in the meeting held at the Parliament headquarters, which took place between His Excellency Mrs. Anita Demetriou, Speaker of the Cypriot Parliament, and Their Excellencies the Arab Ambassadors accredited to Cyprus, to discuss the latest developments on the Palestinian and regional arena.

His Excellency Mr. Ali Yousef Abdul Rahman Al-Mulla, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Cyprus, participated in the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which was held between His Excellency the Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs, and in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Ministry and Their Excellencies the Arab ambassadors accredited to Cyprus, to discuss the latest developments on the Palestinian and regional arena.

His Excellency Mr. Ali Yousef Abdul Rahman Al-Mulla, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Cyprus, attended the reception ceremony for the 50th anniversary of the victory of the October War for the Arab Republic of Egypt. The ceremony was attended by His Excellency the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Cyprus and Their Excellencies the ambassadors accredited to Cyprus and state officials.
